A Fashion Foodie

I have a love for fashion or better yet clothes and food.  So I  want to try out a new category with food in the blog. I haven’t decided if I’ll revamp the blog and change its name or just keep it like this.

This first food post is a dinner I made for my family.

Mac&Cheese- made with brie and parmesan cheese, mushrooms and ham

Pan Seared Chicken

[Dry rub- black &white pepper, onion powder, salt, and oregano]

Lime Butter for the corn on the cob

[softened butter, lime zest, fresh squeezed lime, chili powder, black pepper and salt to taste. then refrigerate]

Viola!

Later on my mother had me help her make a Tres Leches Cake for my Uncles bday.

Cake

3 cups of sugar

3 bars of butter

12 egg yolks

[if making a smaller portion its 4 eggs to every cup of sugar/bar of butter]

take egg whites mix in separate bowl

Fold in egg whites into the rest of the cake batter until smooth

bake at 350 degrees

[once done baking let cool off. Then you may have to shave the cake a bit]

Tres Leches

evaporated milk

condensed milk

coconut milk

mix all together, then start pouring it over the cake little by little allowing the cake to soak up the milk. let it sit in the fridge for an hr or 2 while its soaking up the milk.

you may add whipped cream on top of the cake.
